1936

Balakrishan was born to Ramanujam and Krishnamma on 26.12.1936

1955

He completed his Form Six (HSC) at the Ipoh ACS

1956

Bala entered University of Malaya in Singapore

1960

He graduated with First  Class Honours in Indian Studies from the University of Malaya. He was awarded the University Book Prize for academic excellence.

1961

Bala was appointed as the Head of Indian Service, Radio Malaya.

1965

He married Girijah Naidu on March 27, 1965 at the age of 28.

1976

Bala was appointed Managing Director of AIBD.

1988

He was awarded the Fellowship of the Ryerson Institute of Toronto, Canada.

1989- 2009

He served as the  Chairman of the Rama Subbiah Scholarship Loan Fund; and  Chairman of the Board of 'Makkal Osai.'

2009

Bala  passed away on May 25, 2009 at 12.25 a.m.
